Believe it or not, the Joshua P. photo page is so popular that it has already generated some frequently asked questions. Here they are:
- Why isn't Joshua's mother in any of these pictures?
She's shy, and asked me not to put any pictures of her on the Internet.
- Why so few pictures?
We're trying not to be like those parents who offer to show you "a few baby pictures", and then whip out a photo-documentary of every minute of baby's life.
Instead we're trying to take advantage of the digital camera's strength: since there's no film to buy, we can take hundreds of pictures and throw away all but the best. The best couple from each batch will be posted here for Joshua's admirers.
- When will there be more pictures of Joshua?
When I get around to it. Cut me some slack, will ya?
- Well, why does it take you so long?
My camera doesn't work with Linux. Even with Windows, it takes several tries to get the pictures downloaded successfully. (I don't like Polaroid, I'm not keen on their cameras, and I HATE their software.) For a while I pined for a camera that works with Linux. Finally somebody talked sense into me, and suggested a CompactFlash reader. So for about $30, my problems are solved. Hopefully, there won't be any more long silences.
